Chasing Cars
In a manual car, you gotta control not just the accelerate and brake pedal, u also must control the clutch pedal and the gears, so basically, you cannot miss any single step, cus if you do, the car either jerks forward or the engine stalls which is disastrous on the road. Then add in the signaling, the steering of the wheel and i start to realize now why a manual car is termed manual....
Then today was the most fun lesson ever, cus today was the first time i drove a car on the road!!!
Gosh, when the instructor told me to drive out of the safe confines of the circuit to the heavyily conjested yet narrow road outside the CDC ubi centre, my hard was like pounding at 1000 revolutions per minute(which btw is a measurement of engine speed) and i was like hanging to the steering wheel with my dear life!!!
Then the instructor guided me to drive from ubi to bedok reservoir(my hse there), then to temasek poly then to tampines and back to ubi and boy i had a first hand experience at experiencing what it was like driving a machine 60 km/h on the road. Just like all road users, io had to obey all the traffic regulations etc and i even got a chance to overtake a car in front of me!!! But, aparently, while 60km/h sound like a crazy speed to a newbie like me, it was not so for the other drivers on the road. Despite cruising at almost 70km/h, my car was repeatly overtaken by drivers who apparently was crusing at 90 to 100 km/h. And all this while the recommended speed limit on normal roads is 60-70 km/h...
Anyway, at the end of today's lesson the instructor told me i was still quite nervous and my turing was a little too swift. He then kindly reminded me that had this been a real test, i would have failed 10 times over and cause the instructor next to me to throw up even before i returned back to the driving centre... Apparently, i am not supposed to be some driver from initial d and engage in heartdropping swift turns that felt more like a drift then a gradual turn... Lol, btw from what my father say, you can actually learn how to to drifting in advanced defensive driving course and police are actually trained to do drifts in thier police cars to assit in chasing criminals. Wow... how cool is tat!!!
Happy Study Break to all !
Just cant believe tat term 3 has ended, and now tat the 2 weeks of study break is on us, it also means tat the prelims is just around the corner! Yikes...
My class has been taking lots of pics lately, during the last week of term. There was this be yourself day in school where we all wore different colured tops that represented the colours of the rainbow. Then took lots of pics in it, and i hv to say that the pics were truely stunny. Then the following day, we had staff day celebrations for the J2s and we took pics to. Then the following day, where the colour code was our black class tee, we took even more pics when our dearest PW teacher, Miss Yanti gathered our class after school to take some pics. What a coincendence, my pw group did a project last year on the inventiuon of photography... Lol
Anyway, while i am glad tat we finally had the study break after 8 crazy jam packed weeks tat saw us returing home at 6pm almost every day, i feel kinda sad that term has ended. Actually, the correct word is not sad, rather it is more like an 'emptiness' somewhere in me. Kinda sadf to see that after this all crazy prelims is over, everyone gonna start mugging again. Makes me miss the carefree days in JC1... Oh, the contrast...
Well, i guess i gotta stay focused for this two weeks, aviod the temptations that surrounds me, slog hard, stay strong(Mentally and physically), drink coffee and give my best in the final push for the second last greatest battle of my JC life... Jiayou to all and a happy study break to all! :)

So so happy for Singapore...and all the athletes, not just the Paddlers who have given their all in this mother of all sports competition!
Hope that this unprecedented achievement will inspire our local athletes to strive for more medals in years to come and prove to our budding local athletes that an Olympic Medal is not as far fetched as they think... :)

National day post
Went to watch the mummy 3 tomb of the dragon emperor yesterday with Mei Yee and Jialing, the show gt loads of action but dun watch if you are the type who likes a good old solid plot cus the show basically jus a whole hell of a roller coaster ride... So overall 3.5 stars... Cus it kinda lost the novelty of the 1st 2 mummy movies in a way...
Then today, went to celebrate Hui Xian's bday with Cheng You, Jialing, Pui Munn, Stephanie and Shu Yao. Went to bugis Junction as CY suggested to avert the crowds who will be swarming downtown Singapore like when they did at the recent Great Sinagpore Sale. But alas, bugis was equally crowded... Haha, shopped around, walk around, eat around, chatted around and waited around for the whole gang to come then went to this Jap restaurant(forgot Name liao) to eat.
Food was ok, cake was better than ok, okie quite nice lah... Haha, then after dinner, walk around bugis junction again. Looked at some reali interesting stuff. Then spent a whole lot today. Bought a goggles to replace my damaged one, bought lots of sweets and biscuits at the Cheap wholesale shop hidden in the midst of bugis street, bought old chang kee food cus they were having this 1 dollar national day promotion for any single item. Haha, but never wear red today... lol so random...
Just realised i always write long post like as if i was writing a GP essay. So decided to change it to a less essayish style and a more casual, non essayish style. Kudos to SPH, theier recent revamp of the new straits time newspaper gave me the inspiration to do so... Lol, i love being random... Btw, collide by Howie Day rocks... Search youtube for ' when 6 songs collide', it rocks even more, not kidding... Ok, now i am reali been random...

Not trying to act as some self justified peace maker here, but reali hope tat the situtation will not reach a stage where both parties find it hard to talk to each other. I treasure both this two frens and do not want to see myself caught in the middle or worst still, taking sides here. Actually, like all spats, both parties are kinda at fault here... and i really hope that there can be someway where misunderstanings can be cleared between them. Sometimes, though, in a situation like this, it would be great for someone to step forward and take the first step in apologising. Though what i feel is most important is that there must be sincererity in what is been said.
Fortunately, both parties have already taken the first step and reach out to the other in one way or another to try to explain and clear some misunderstandings tat mite hv occured. A letter, a phone call, what is used is not important, but what you truely mean is important. What u say must be genuine, cause it is only then can you trust yourself and the other party. So having said that, i really and sincerly hope that the current spat, be they due to misunderstandings or hurt feelings form the past can be resolved, and as a fren to both parties, this is really what i want to see.
Movie outing 2: Red Cliff
Dun reali know much of the actors or actrees fm this film except for perhaps Tony Leung and Zhao Wei. But saw the trailers a few months back while watching another movie and my first impression was this is a 'must watch' movie! However, the movie did not reali meet my expectations though, but generally the battle scenes was quite good. There was of course that famous scene where the soilders under Liu Bei used thier reflective shields to blind of Cao CAo army though the CGI effect made it look quite fake. My favorite battle scene was when the allied forces led by Zhou Yu lured Cao Cao's amry into the Eight Tiagrams Formation and utterly slaughterd them. Then just like a scene out from Dynasty warriors as Cheng You commented, the various good side generals came out and personally took on 30 to 50 soilders each which was a tat unrealistic, but then agian who cares as long as the action scenes were nice.
Only gripe with the show was tat it was kinda long winded at times and this was not helped by the fact tat the movie was like 2.5 hrs long. Kinda fel ta little slow moving at times but in general i tot it was quite a nice epic movie for the summer, just not the 5 stars tat some hv rated for this movie...
After tat, went on to have dinner at cavana and chatted with them. Apparently, JCTs had taken a toll on most of us given most if us had failed one or two subjects but its ok, we shall persevere!
Then talk about our stuf regarding our secondary school frens and reminisice(sort of) about the past. Then tok about our plans on wat to do after this whole crazy Alevels was over, like how we were goona to enjoy ourselves etc... haha, hopefully can act as motivator for me to work hard! Stayed at white sands untiul bout 10pm, then took the bus hm for a well rested rest before the next cyle of the "battle for the Prelims" begins next week...
Movie outing 1: Dark Knight
Went out with the class guys and Xin Lin to watch Dark Knight at GV tamp cus thrus was like one of our rare early days as we were dismissed at 3pm tat day instead of the usual 5 plus. Then loiter ard in sch until 4pm like tat, while Bobby, Teng Han and Xin Lin went to grap the tickets for 4.15pm. So basically, me, Chun Kiat and Jit took the Cab fm sch and told the cabby to chiong to TM. Told him we need to get there within 15min and he said "can do". Lol, then while on the cab, Jit passed me a piece of paper with a oval drawn on it and said it was fm Ryan Aka the Beat Boxer of our sch and it was supoosed to be some kind of Design your own egg day or smtink like tat... Lol, tot he it was sm bad joke at first but apparently he was serious... Still thinking of the design for the egg... Maybe a batman design?
Then we managed to reached the cinema in time to catch sm trailers. The Mummy 3 look kinda great... But better still was the Dark knight! Reali felt tat it was worth the 4.5 -5 stars it was rated for. Not just because of the great acting by distinguished acting by Heath Ledger, Gary Oldman, Christian Bale and the likes but also the hiddeng meanings behing the show. For example there was this particular scene where the Joker rigged two ferries, one carrying prisoners onboard , the other innocent civillians wioth bombs and told the crew on both ships tat they could either blew the other ship up with the detonator provided onboard or the joker would blow both ships up at midnight. Apparently it was some 'social experiment' by the joker, and he wanted to prove tat humans show thier 'true hideous' colours when pushed to the limits. But in the end, both ships decided tat they could not bare to blow up the other ship because thier morals prevented them fm doing so. It was perhaps the most heartening moment of the movie. Of course Batman went on to save the day and kicked the Joker in his ASS.
There was also a cameo appearance by AgentMahone from Prison break!!!
Lol, Alex Fletcher, to be exact played the role of the bank manager the joker tired to rob and he sure kicked ass in the scene where he simply took out a shotgun from under his desk and started shooting wildly at the thugs sent by joker. Of course, he was killed by the joker in the end(personally, on less) but he sure went out like a true hero! Haha, come to think of it, the fellow fox river prisoners should have aslo made a cameo appearance at the scene involving the prisoners on the ferry. Tat would have been nice :)

Friday: A night of swimming and feasting
So we went swimming and i realised that my googles was leaking... Lol, so i had to swim with one eye closed since it leaked on one side only... Then the guys commented that the pool is a good place to look at girls... Lol. Next came CK with a ring from someone... which of course incited the guys to intergorate him and threaten to throw him in the pool if he did not own up... Apparently, it was a special gift from a special person... Can't say it here, but if you know Ck, then it is kinda obvious who tat person it... Then the guys chatted, while lazing around the Jaccuzi about the girls in school... erm haha, its all guys talk lah... much like i think what girls talk among themselves about Guys...
So by the time we got out fm the pool, it was like already 7.45pm, went to shower, then we all walked to Blk 85 which has tons of good food for dinner. Pooled together a group fund of 10 dollars per person( i assure you, 10 bucks is more than enough to fill you up) and we bought satay, oyster egg, sambal stingray and lots more... By the time the food came... and for some strange reason, they always come together, our table was overflowing... So we feasted like Kings, alfreseco style, since there was no aircon and we choose a table with no shelter to escape the sweltering heat in the hawker centre. The highlight of the day for me was the sambal stingray. And it did not cause a bomb in the end cus our group fund was left with 12.50 in the end and bobby suggested we go buy durinas while Teng Han wanted booze... The former would get us a terrible sorethroat the next day while the latter would get us into the Bedok police HQ for questioning cus we werew still wearing TJ shirts at tat time... nah, i was exagerating.
So all in all, it was a great night... Hmm maybe we should have more of such feasting and swimming more often since we can eat without guilt given that we had excerise before... Lol, wat a great excuse...
My hiatus from blogging
During this time, it has been a crazy rollercoaster ride through 2.7 whole crazy weeks. It really seems that i am going to work, not school given that now i actully spent literally 12 hours in school. Lessons hv now been stretched to end at around 5 plus to 6pm from tuesdays to fridays and we now have at least 1 class/lecture test everyday. Reali give a new perspective to the saying " Life is full of (class) tests" right? This plus having to study for the the tests the night before and you will see that why the past 2.7 weeks have been a hell of a time... and i mean it in the negative conotation...
Well, but seriously, although i am still adapting to the extented timeslot and kinda hate the teachers for doing this on the other hand, i do appreciate all the hard work that they have put i for us. After all, it is us not them that are taking the A levels, and they could have just cancelled all remedial lectures and class tests so they can go home earlier... But they did not. Baring in mind the time and effort that they have to spent to come up with the tests, to come up with new lect notes, to mark additional work... actually they are indeed spending more time than us on thier workload. So i guess life's not so bad for us either, just gotta learn to priroritise my time well and get my spelling right( I know i made a couple of spelling mistakes here... Just too lazy to 'spellcheck' it).
So time mangaement huh... i kinda suck at it. But given the circumstances that i am in currently... two subpasses for my maths and chem, i guess i gotta pull up my socks and strive to make full use of whatever time left cause i really want to avoild the diaster that was the JCTS. Kinda wonder if 3 months left is enough for me to get my foundation right and to strive hard for my A levels, but i guess as long as i strive to try my best, it will not be a case of "too little, too late". And for anyone else who like me have screw up the Jcts or feel that there is too little time left, here's a quote by Gandalf from Lord Of The Rings:
" All you have to do, is to decide what you are going to do with the time that is given to you"

Log for the weekend
Thrusday:
- End of Bio, end of JCTs, time to celebreate !
- Went to seoul garden at marina square with the class to have lunch, haha, it was a day of contemporary music, haha, dunno why seoul garden keep playing those 'oldies' from a few years back, but good choice of songs!
- After that, went to golden village to watch movie. Class split into 2 groups, i joned the group that watched 'wanted' while the other grp watched KungFu Panda. Angelina Jolie was hot... the action scenes and the curving of bullets were ubercool, and the twist in the storyline was not bad, but the ending kinda suck.
Friay:
- Went to the gym to workout, haha, nafa coming, i need to pass pullups!!!
- Then pack my room to clear up the mess from the aftermath of JCTs... room was like a diaseter zone, with paper, stationary, notes strewn all over the place!
- Then study for my upcoming basic theory test for drivings... memoriesed lots and lots of road signs and road regulations, then went for the mock test at the Comfort delgro driving centre, haha, i got 96%!
Saturday:
- Went for the actual theory test, finally passed the test... haha, then went to queue up to get mp provisonal driving license
- After 2 grulling hours... due to some system breakdown... i finally got my provisional driving license!!! Now, i am licensed to drive... And my future car plate should reali be 007...
- Went to my grandma house in the evening...as usual, everyone was glued onto the tv aft dinner, due to some korean show on channel 8 at 7.30pm... lol, played foosball with m cousins... the remaining ones who were not glued onto the tv screen...
Sunday:
- Did, chem hw tis morning...
- Then went out with Mei Yee and Zhi Qing to buy Jolyn's present cus our pw grp sharing...went to Sun Tec convention hall... First stop, the Singapore toy and comics convention!
- Wa, the convention centre there hor, the crowded, just like IT fair like that... went to join the wrong queue, then found the booth for the passport for the fair...Lol
- Saw alot of ppl cosplaying as anime characters, it was rather cool,, gt deathnote, gundam seed, final fantasy... and more, even saw lightsabers sticking out form the crowd and two random guys wih rifles posing like the counter terrorist fromcounter strike game...
- Then visited alot of booths, including Gundam booth! Haha, no special offers though, so nv buy anything, but took couple of pics of the gundams. Other booths sold stuff like manga, figurines and designer toys... Mei Yee was the photographer of the day with her handy digicam
- In, the end we felt tat it was quite crowded, so we left, took afew pic to show tat we had 'been there and done that', then wandered around Sun Tec to look for carefour... apparently, i am nt the only one bad with directions...
- Then finally settled at shop x and y and found what we like to buy for jolyn, Zh Qing then left to join her junior for her shoping trip... so me and Mei Yee went to eat at the asian kitchen b4 making our way home.
- Well, i did nt reali went hm though, took a bus to my grandma hse, this time my mother' side, to have dinner... but missed the bus stop and ended up on an expressway...
- After tat, it was hm sweet hm and blogging time!!! And whoohoo, my father finally bought a new com to replace our 6 yr old one, will get them tml! So i ca finally go online without begging to use his work laptop :)
- Going to watch pushing dasies after this, for anyone who s free on a sunday night, tune into pushing dasies on 10.30pm, channel 5. Damn funny show, ure make u luagh want, perfect way to relax so that u can face the brave new world tml...

Urgh...PC's down !!!
So now i am stuck to using my Dad's laptop... problem is it is his work laptop and i can only use it after he comes hom at night. Then he dosent allow me to play any online games or pc games online cus he is afraid that i might damage his laptop... which is kinda absurd. But what a coincindence... hius laptop broke down 2 days ago and he just switched his motherbard so tha reali impedes my ability to negioate with him about playing that online games... Hack even my web surfing time is now limited...tis rite after JCTs, what a life...
Haiz, guess i just have to focus my time on other stuff then... like wathing tv programes to wind down an relax... or to i dunno...go to the library to borrow some comics to read, haha, love thier wide selection of marvel and DC comics available for loan there...maybe i will make a trip down tml, after my basic theory test to get my provisional drivin lessons. Lol, apparently, after passin a MCQ test of 50 questions regarding road signs, safety and directions, i will be given provision to drive on the road... which is kinda cool accept that the only car i have driven so far is the mario kart or daytona machines at the arcade and perhaps the GO-Karts at esccape theme park...but that is another story...
Talking about driving lessons, there is this movie starring Rupert Grint A.K.A Ron Weasly that is tittled 'Driving Lessons'... Haha, it is about this coming of age young teen trying who comes form a traitional and conservative family who one day meets this retired to actress who shows him what the real world is like... with booze etc...which then challenges the boy's beliefs and forces him to choose between his old life or the more exciting one he could possibily have out there. Apparently the Driving lessons thing comes in to the story some where... but of course the Key star of the show is Rupert Grint, given that this is first ever movie with hime acting as the main character outside of the harry pottere movies. From the reviews i saw on the net, it is not bad so fans of Rupert Grint can go check it out...
Got to go now before my fathers starts complaining... Lol, hope i will pass the basic theory test tomorrow... after all if Ron Weasly could get his driving license at the epilogue of the deathly hallows, i am sure i can too! Though you got to admit he did use a little bit of magic to help him...

Woot...Jct is over !!!
Can't believe it though, haha, though i am glad that it is finally over, kinda regreted not studying hard enough for the JCTs. In the end onli went into battle with barely more than half of my syllubus... kinda know what kind of results to expect...
But wha's past is past, and it is no use to keep reminding myself of my failures.. Guess i have to look on the positive side of life... to look forwards and not badwards and perhaps to reflect and try to formulate a better 'Grand Plan' next time and stick to it! I may have lost the batle this time, but with determination and perseverance and, i want to and i am sure i can win the war!!!

I have a dream...
But seriously, i have been having dreams everyday for the past week which was kinda cool. Actually, read a report somewhere that a normal person have like 2-3 dreams every nite, it is just that we can't remember all of them...
So, when i say i had a dream, it just meant that i had a particular dream that i could remember after i wake up. Actually, i like having dreams... esp the type that take u to some adventure in some faraway land that u never seen before in your life. Then also like the type of dreams that take you along with your frens to say solve a weird mystery in school... And the most hilarious thing about this type is tat often ur frens whom may not know each other actually know each other in the dream. For example, in a particular dream, i had frens from my primary school days, my secondary school days and my junior college days coming together laughing and playing like they had known each other for ages... It was certainly amusing.
In dreamland, the most unlikely thing could also be reality, at least in the dream. Once, i dreamt that i was Kira Yamato from the anime Gundam Seed and i was piloting my strike Gundam to save the earth from Zaft forces... There were like a squadron of Enemy Zakus heading towards a particular areas i was guarding and the only backup i had was a crazy old Sky grasper fighter Jet. Then, jus i was engaging the enemy, the scene suddenly switched to one where me and the crew onboard the archangel feeling from the enemy. I know this may sound absurd, but it was as i had remember in my dreams.
Guess, i had been watching too much anime. But i have also read somewhere that researchers that study how dreams work have a theory that the brain is made up of thousands of thousands of compartments and all the daily experiences, all that we see, hear, are broken down into small parts and randomly placed in the random comaprtments. Then when we enter REM(Rapid eye movement) Stage, that is geek speak for the period of our sleep where dreams most frequently appear, our brain randomly rearrange the images experienced by us when we are awake and this explains how our dreams can be so weird...
For example, the brain may take an image from our primary school years, one from our secondary school years and then mix them together. In the brains desperate attempt to interpret the mixmash of images, it somehow finds a way to link them up, so in that dream, it may seem that our friends from various times of our life who dunno each pother can suddenly be best of pals... This may also explain why in our dreams, we can suddenly transit from one scene to another without any proper linkage. I suspect this also explains how we are able to time travel in our dreams...
Lol, i know i sound very geekish here, but this sort of dreams are some of the things that really engage my attention. For more information on how dreams work and dreams interpretation, you can go wiki it... Found alot of interesting stuff there... Like how you can differentiate a dream from reality... there are actually proven methods to tell if you are dreaming or awake! Or for those with nightmares that keep recurring, there are actually methods to confront the nightmares in your dreams!( Its true!)
And besides, such dreams also adds a nice touch to our otherwise mundane life of mugging as students and can help us escape the pressures of reality every now and then, so go on, lets all have a dream... Who knows maybe you will be able to meet this writer in your dreams... Jus kidding :)

Rantings of a despreado Kid
Dunno why, whenever i try to set targets like to actually work hard for once and to actually complete 100% of my syllubus b4 a major exam, i always fail to do so. Kind of demoralizing. In fact from last year's JCT, promos and tis year's MCT, i have always set for the exams without completing my syllubus and i reali wanted to push myself to at least not skip any topics or chapters for this JCT, but i guess my plan is gg down the drain...
Sigh, despite my best efforts to actually come up with a 'grand plan', the plan was a failure as i still could not manage my time properly in the end and found it mission impossible to follow through the grand plan. In fact, my Grand plan is now lying hidden somewhere around my cupboard, so i guess the next time i come up with a grand plan, to ensure that i am constantly reminded to follow through it, i should perhaps tattoo it on my body... just like tat smart guy from Fox River State prison.
Anyway, saw the news on the net on sat...that a 1000 inmates including 400 or so taliban warriors broke out of a major prison following a massive attack on the prison involving a truck bomb, dozens of suicide bombers and rocket strikes. The damage was so extensive that it tore up the main gate and blew up almost the entire rooftop of the prison complex. This is i think one of the biggest or the BIGGEST prison break out in history! Not even the break out by the fox river 8 or Mas Selamat or even the death eaters in Azkaban could have matched that. Hmm, maybe prison break season 4 could get some ideas from there... Lol But seriously, there has to be questions to why the security of a complex holding 100s of wanted taliban fighters was guarded in such a lax manner. After the coliation forces spend years trying to capture these fighters in the 'war against terrorism' all it took is for a few dozen of fighters to break out 1000 wanted criminals. Now, the same forces have to spent years to track down these men again...
Well, so enough of the ranting by the Desprerado Kid, it is time for dinner and after dinner, i have a war to fight. The ongoing war to scape though the JCTs! Movie coming to a lecture theater near you this summer, premiers on June 23rd ,end on 28th, 'book/mug' ur tickets before it is too late!
Happy Father's Day
Was listening to some Chinese radio station yesterday, and this guest speaker by the name of Gao Ling Feng mentioned that fathers are often forgotten despite showing equal love to their children. He mentioned that the sad thing about fathers nowadays is that they in their 20s and 30s they often work so as to support their families and sacrifice their time with their children. Then when they reach their 40s, they often fell guilty and decide to wind down on their career and spent more time with their teens. But by then, there will often be a gap between the father and the teen so the father will find it hard to communicate with the child despite his best efforts. And unlike mothers who show more emotions and physical caring to their child, fathers, being male often hide their emotions and do not express their love physically, although their love for the child is equal to that of the mother. So this is kinda sad... But anyway, my father is almost like what that singer described. I can tell that he realli works very hard to provide for the family, sometimes coming back hm at late hours. Although, he used to be very strict when i was young and use to yell at me and my bro, as i grew older, he began to tone down and started talking rather than just yelling. However, there is still this barrier between me and him, i tend not to approach him on matters i deem too unimportant and sensitive to talk about and prefer to keep them to myself. But despite this, i know that he loves me alot, and he tends to put it across through his actions rather than words. Like when i had to go though the trauma of circumsition, like when he nagged or chided me for being so forgetful, it is through the collection of this various actions, that you see the true love of a father, a love that cannot be expressed in words alone. So, dad, though i will never say this to you( cause i find it too uncomfortable to day it out loud), i just want to thank you for all the times that you have been there for me and yes, i love you.

The Great YCMA Sale !!!
Realize that big crowds may nt always bode well for business especially in busy areas like TM. In fact we managed to sell more stuff in the morning where there were lesser ppl! So maybe 'too many customers spoil the business'... Ah... damn the spoof! Anyway, realized that alot ppl bought our gds not bcus of the charity factor but bcus they needed the goods so it was kinda sad... But all in all, the sales was quite good and together with the balloon stall, we surpassed the targets for the day! Yep, jus wanna thank everyone who came down to support us on Sat, that AHS teacher tat generously donated 10 bucks without buying anything, and all wqho contributed the second hand items. Also must thank my team members and the AHS helpers for a job well done and Nick the organise for always being the nice guy and for doing such a good job for this whole event.
It was definitely a memorable event for me, not just the sales day itself but the long hours spent on preparation for this 2 day event! Now, perhaps it is time to go back to mugging! Urgh! All da best everyone! :)
Friday: Cakeday + A lesson learnt
Woke up super early today, went sch and met Wan Ting to 'ka pok' some of her pushcaert items for our sales day cip on sat. (Thanks Wan Ting, for making yourway down to sch!) Then lugged back 4 huge bags of socks and hp pouches back home with the help of CY. Gosh, nearly broke my finger as i attempted a finger grip while sipping on soymilk with the other hand. Jus kidding...
Then, went out with CY and the rest to celebrate stephanie's reali belated birthday. Lol, met super early at 11.30am at bedok mrt, but only had lunch at ard 2.30pm. Haha, the 3 hrs we went to bk movie tickets, had a debate between Kung Fu panda( fighting) or Narnia( even more fighting), shop ard taka, bought a cake( whcih was a piece of cake as there were cake shops every where )and wander ard orchard looking for the holy grill... erm i mean the perfect place to eat since every where was super crowded! Finally settled on Fish and Co at paragon and guess waht 8 out of the 9 of us ordered the classic fish and chips... haha, guess we were to hungry to choose other wise...Then had a great time catching up again and chatting with on and all. Coincidentally, at the table nxt to us, there whose birthday was on this day and we witnessed the signature tribal influenced birthday chant by the staff members of fish and co and the poor dude standing on the chair with a sparkler to boot. It was hilarious !!! Then after that, steph was like 'you had better not ask the staff members to sing that song!', but fortunately( unfortunately for us though) the tribal birthday song is only invoked on the date of the person's birthday, or 3 days before or after...
Anyway. after feasting on the cake and the food and settling the bills, we realized that it was 3.50... and our movie was supposed to start at 3.50! So, it was a mad rush to cathay cineleisure, as we sought to make it before the 15 min deadline. Fortunately for us, the staff outside allowed us entry and had to squeeze, duck, and creep our way thought the packed hall to locate dour seats. Well, the movie was kind of hilarious and the graphics were quite good, but i was kinda of hoping for more action as there was only this crazy snow tiger villain, and a host of good guys vieing to stop him after his amazing prison break from some prison carved out in the mountains. Kind of liked the part where the rhino prison chief said that the prison had " 1 way in, 1 prisoner, 1000 guards and 1 way out!" So basically, it is sucidal to attempt a break out... But nevertheless, the villian managed to outsmart, outwit and outplay the guards and fought his way out of prison. Kinda like Micheal Scotfield and Mas Selamat, but with special powers!
So what was the lesson learnt... No, definitely not breaking out of prison is the 'in' thing, though i loved prison break( And there is gonna be a season 4!!!). It was the part where the 'dragon warrior', the Panda finally realized that he did not need do something special to be special! He was the dragon warrior because he believed that he could be the dragon warrior. When he looked at his reflection in the empty dragon scroll, what he saw was his own face, not the face of warriors that he taught were better than him! So that was the lessons that i learnt that day: We do not have to always strive to be special, to be unique, we are special by virtue of us being unique individuals with our own failings and strengths. So do not always look at people whom you think are better than you and be envious of them, we are all special in one way or another!
Yep, i dunno if it sounds cliche or what, but i feel it is true. Like when the panda's father finally revealed to his son that there is no secret to his famed noodles that is best in the village, the secret is that there is no secret! People simply think that the noodles are special and perceive it to taste better than ordinary noodles. Yep, so all in all, it was a really memorable day for me!

Back from camp... Reflections
Well other than the games and night walks, during the frequent ' slack and do nothing periods', we just played cards. Played Big 2, cheat, learnt a new game called 99, and tried but failed to learn bridge. Then, during other 'slack and do nothing periods", we also played numerous rounds of captain ball, monkey etc. Of cause, we used a proper ball and not a chicken though, otherwise, i guess we will have the SPCA breathing down our necks! Also finalized the lineup of the 7th Board of Directors during the numerous impromptu meetings called during the camp, though i must say that we spent hours pondering on on the 1001 possibilities of forming the new committee from th 12 highly talented nominees. Sad to say we had to eliminate some of them, but this is life right, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win. What's most important is how you pick yourself up after a setback and strive to be better! Yep, as our last 'reward' for our successors, we tricked them but getting our teacher, Miss Wong, to announce a fake lineup of the new committee, totally stunning some of them. It was hilarious to see the reactions on their faces though some of the smarter year 2s saw through our trick as the same trick was played on us by our seniors last year. But we all had a good laugh about it!
The final hand over was a mix of emotions though. On one hand, i felt relieved that i was no longer burdened as a comm member in my PDP. But seeing that there will no longer be any of the weekly Wednesday meetings, no more crazy BOD last minute chiong meetings, no more of the crazy antics that some of us are used to doing left me sort of empty somewhere. But the memories will always be with me somewhere, somehow... Yep, so now that this step of my life is over, perhaps it is time to "step up to the next step": it is perhaps time to mug for my JCTs...But in the mean time... Thank you, everyone who have made this camp a memorable one for me, and for the past 1.5 years that has changed me to a certain extent, as a person. Thanks to all... and to all, a big thank you! :)

Survivor Singapore: Pulau Temasek?
And there will definitely be station games and water games during the camp, so it can be like the reward challenge in survivor. For example for the first reward challenge, the winning tribe will get to slack around for one hour and the losing tribe will have to carry everyone's bags to our respective bunks. Then maybe for the subsequent challenges, the winning team will get to enjoy other camp comforts like access to a ps3 for 2 hrs, being allowed to bath first, permission to use mac delivery, ability to 'kidnap' stronger members from the losing tribe, sending members from the losing tribe to 'scope island' to spend the night there... Haha, i am so evil!
Then, there will be tribal council! But since this is a two day camp, there has to be a council every 1 hour or so i guess, since there are like 50 ppl in the camp. And since the juniors organizing this camp do not have the right to send us home after we are voted out, blindsided, backsteped or play the fake idol, resulting in our demise in the game, we will all stay on as the jury! So on the last one hour of the camp, the 2 or 3 last standing survivors will then have to address the 47 of us jury members, and listen to the 47 jury member's ' You don't deserve the 1 million dollars' argument. Lol, it will be the longest final tribal council ever...
Well, i just hope that i will be in the stronger tribe and we don't have to scavage for our own food... Lol, just kidding, packed meals will be provided rite? It was mentioned in the contract when we sign on for the game... so the juniors had better not tricked us. Lol, in the meantime, i should snap back to reality... my PA is beckoning me to start mugging, and i have to go interview the year one members running for ex-co later tis afternoon, so i guess i better start mugging. Until next time then!

Flower pics

Hmm... This are the pics of the flowers that i learnt to make fm CY and company... Haha, not bad for a novice like me rite? Lol! The ones in the top, i made them all by myself! Haha, then the bottom one is some failed attempt in trying to perform genetic engineering on a flower! Lol, the middle pic shows some flowers made by CY and PM.
The Chronicles of Giving: The Star Fish, The Boy and The Old Man
Erm, pardon the spoof using Chronicles of Narnia, just want to share this story many of you may be familar with...
The Starfish Story --adapted from the writings of Loren Eiseley
As a young boy walked along a beach at dawn, he noticed an old man ahead of them picking up starfish and tossing them into the sea. Catching up with the man, the boy asked why he was doing this. The old man explained that the stranded starfish would die if left in the morning sun.
“But the beach goes on for miles and there are thousands of starfish,” exclaimed the boy. “How can you alone make any difference?” The old man looked at the starfish in his hand and then tossed it safely into the waves. He turned to the boy, smiled and said,
“I made a difference to that one. ”
This beautiful story has reminded me of the recent twin crisis in Myanmar and China, though i would like to focus on the Myanmar cyclone Nargis incident. Now, as we all know, the current ruling military Junta in Myanmar is not very receptive of foreign aid and though this has changed in the past week with the combined efforts of both ASEAN and UN initiatives, many are skeptical of the transparency with which aid funds from abroad are handled by the Junta. Some of my friends and family feel that no matter how much money we donate to help the victims in Myanmar, it would hardly make any difference to the people there. I would like to add my two cents worth to this issue. Myanmar is currently entering the rebuilding phase and rescue efforts have mostly concluded. Whatever the Junta has done... forsaking the victims in the immediate aftermath of the disaster, expulsing foreign aid workers, preventing genuine aid from geeting to the victims who most need them is done- and can't be changed. While we cannot make a difference anymore to those who have died in this tragedy, we can and should make a difference to those who are struggling to rebuild their lives in Myanmar. Even if only 10 percent of our aid goes to the victims, at least we made a difference to them. Even if it was just for a day, an hour, it is still a difference to someone's life... Even if the generals were to take our aid and repackage it to make it such that the aid came from the generals, so be it, at least the people received the aid. So, to end of, i would strongly urge everyone out there, regardless of what the Junta has done, to continue sending aid to the victims of the cyclone Nargis disaster. We may not be able to make a difference to everyone, but at least we can make a difference to someone.
Flower making+ BBQ= Super busy day
Then we had a BBQ at nite along with some of my sec 2 frens at my hse. Bought lots of food but they were all meat, only veg were potatoes which are more like shoots, a few pieces of corn and some King mushroom bought by CY. So basically we had a all meat dinner which was kind of heaty and for a person like me with severe acne, absolutely disastrous for my face, but then who reali cares, its just for 1 nite... Lol. Took me and CY like 30 mins to start the fire but i am proud to say it was the most successful fire i hv ever started using charcoal. The last time we tried to start a fire for another BBQ, we almost caused a haze to envelop Pasir Ris and our fire was more like a microwave oven rather than a fire for grilling... So with the fire up, we started cooking and soon we were tucking in heartily into the most scrumptious BBQ ever... Ok, maybe i lied, but the cook deserves the credit, rite? :) Haha, just kidding. Oh yes, and there was alcohol which i really enjoyed and which i had taken a liking to ever since i turned legal... Lol
Well, so throughout the BBQ, jokes were made, photos were taken, frens caught up with one another, tales were exchanged and childhoods were relished by the 8 of us teens hijaking the entire playground rite nxt to our BBQ pit, hope we, did not scare any kid away!
So all in all, it was a great nite for me and i reali enjoyed myself! Hope to see everyone soon and happy mugging for the june hols! :)
Trip to CGH...
Sigh, i must have exhausted all means tat the poor doc could hv thought of to treat my acne. Hahaz! Then realized tat i am actually uncomfortable around needles, not scared, just uncomfortable, you know, tat weird gut wrenching feeling one has when one does something uncomfortable... what am i saying?
Anyway, doc says that i should not over expose myself under the sun, should apply sun screen every 3 hours when i am out in the sun, should not eat oily food, should not take XYZ... you get it...
The worse part is that from today onwards, i have to apply sun screen every morning! Urghs... that will take some time to get use to... Sianz... but on hind side, what the doc say about the protection sun screen provide to your face and skin is true though, haha, so for all you ppl out there, do apply sun screen to protect your face ok, esp given the unusually hot and sunny weather plaguing Singapore right now!
Suicide mission
Well, haha my PA(personal assistance) has reminded me that i am behind my schedule, have a whole pile of remedial hw to do, and it is remedial for Bio and Econs, and i have not touched a single piece of hw except my econs essay tat i am writing rite now... so basically, no sleeping! Yada, yada, damn my PA! I want my sleep! ( Where's my Lighter? )
So here i am, complaining in my 'dreams' while back in reality, trying to chiong through my 2 bio tutorials, my econs essay, and study for my econs test and i onli gt 2.5 hrs left, so basically, this is a suicide mission...
But just like the armies of Rohan in the battle of Helm's deep, the crazy Spartans in the movie 300, the kamikazes pilots in WW2, when faced with insurmountable odds, what do we do? We face them head on, with a smile on our face! After all, since it is a suicide mission, you already sort of know the outcome already, so flash your mega watt smile while going down! You might just impress your enemies enough for them to pull out some magical time turner like in Harry Potter so you have more time to do your HW... AND TO SLEEP! Haha, just don't follow what i do... write a blog before one's 'Deathbed'!
Now, back to Reality... its time to kick some Orcs! ( Read: homework). For Rohan! For nation!

The Grand Plan
Tis is driving me nuts!!! How the heck am i supposed to hit the books when there i have to go out like once every two days on average! And i dun wanna screw up my JCT like i did for my JCT and promos last year. So, i decided to come up with a grand plan... A few pages of plain paper, a black felted marker and some good old determination and viola!!! the grand plan is up.
Basically the grand plan is like my personal assistance, i gt to listen to it tell me when to study, when to write this blog, when to go out with frens, when to relax and when to sleep. The only difference, my PA unlike her human counterpart stares at me 24 hrs a day, rain or shine when i am at my study desk... and stares and stares and stares! I am sure no other PA is as efficient aS tat little piece of a4 paper hanging on my desk. Lol, so for those of you who like me, are very disorganized, go get a PA, a paper one to manage your time. Just dun tear it up when it annoys you... Burn it!
Woot! My First Post!
Anyway, just wanted to see what was all the hooha about blogging and to kill time during the hols. Actually also wanted to find a place to pen down my thoughts so that maybe a few years down the road, i can have a place to reminisce about the past.
Yep yep, hope i can find time to spruce up my blog and make it better... Perhaps more pics and videos... Hope to update it frequently!
